There aren’t a lot of photographers offering luxury newborn photography in Orange County. We are one of the few and we feel strongly that it’s by far the best approach to newborn photography there is. Our number one goal is taking care of our new moms from start to finish.

We know that bringing your newborn into the studio for their first portraits can feel overwhelming. Parents often wonder: What will the session be like? Will my baby cooperate? How long will it take?

The truth is, a luxury newborn photography session is designed to be calm, comfortable, and completely baby-led. From the moment you step into my Old Town Tustin studio, everything is taken care of so you can relax and enjoy this milestone.

Arrival at the Studio

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a warm, welcoming space. The studio is prepared before you get there:

  • The room is warmed to keep your baby cozy.

  • Props, wraps, and wardrobe are sanitized and ready.

  • Soft seating areas are available for parents to rest.

You’ll have time to feed, soothe, or cuddle your baby before we begin. There’s no rush—we follow your baby’s natural rhythm.

Baby-Led Flow

Every newborn session is baby-led. That means if your little one needs to eat, we pause. If they need rocking or soothing, we take the time.

This flexible approach keeps your baby comfortable and ensures your portraits reflect natural, peaceful moments rather than forced poses. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours, but the time is fluid to accommodate your baby’s needs.

Our full-service experience takes care of you from the moment you arrive at our Tustin studio. Learn more about our newborn portrait experience here.

Safe and Gentle Posing

Your newborn’s safety is my top priority. All posing is done gently, with constant support and awareness of your baby’s comfort. I never force a baby into a position. Instead, I guide them naturally, capturing their tiny details—their curled toes, wisps of hair, and sleepy expressions.

Parent and Family Portraits

While much of the session focuses on your newborn, I always encourage parents and siblings to join in. These portraits capture the emotional connection of welcoming a new life into your family, and they often become the most meaningful images in your gallery.

Our sessions include: baby alone, baby with mom, baby with dad, baby with family. You’ll never have to choose between a newborn session and a family session.

Ordering Appointment: From Portraits to Artwork

A luxury session doesn’t end with the photoshoot. After your images are ready, you’ll return about 2-3 weeks after your session for a design and ordering appointment. Together, we’ll choose the best way to showcase your portraits:

  • Albums to tell your baby’s story

  • Wall galleries for your home

This step ensures your portraits don’t sit unseen on a computer but become part of your family’s legacy. Learn more about the why a professional photo album is a must and why printed artwork holds its value over time.

Your newborn session should feel like a celebration, not a chore. With a baby-led approach, curated wardrobe, professional styling, and heirloom artwork, the process is designed to be stress-free and deeply meaningful. If you’re just starting to explore options, take a look at what makes our newborn sessions different.

Frequently Asked Questions About Your Luxury Newborn Session Experience

What should I expect during a luxury newborn session?

Your session is designed to feel calm, unhurried, and fully taken care of from start to finish.

From the moment you arrive, everything is prepared for you—so you can simply settle in, be with your baby, and enjoy the experience while I guide you through each step.

How long does a newborn session take?

Newborn sessions typically last 2–3 hours, but there’s no strict timeline.

Everything is baby-led, which means we allow time for feeding, soothing, and breaks so the experience never feels rushed.

What if my baby is fussy or won’t sleep?

That’s completely normal—and expected.

Because the session is baby-led, we simply pause, feed, soothe, and continue when your baby is ready. Some of the most beautiful images come from these in-between moments.

Do I need to bring anything to the session?

No—everything is provided for you.

The studio is fully stocked with wraps, outfits, and props, and I guide you through everything ahead of time so you can arrive feeling prepared and relaxed.

What should I wear after just having a baby?

You don’t have to figure that out on your own.

I provide a curated wardrobe for moms, along with professional hair and makeup, so you can feel confident and cared for during a time when you may not feel your best.

When should I book my newborn session?

It’s best to book during your second trimester to ensure availability.

Your session date is then adjusted based on your baby’s actual arrival, with flexibility built in.

What does “baby-led” actually mean?

It means your baby sets the pace for the entire session.

We follow their natural rhythm—pausing for feeding, soothing, or cuddling whenever needed—so the experience stays calm and comfortable.

Will you include photos with parents and siblings?

Yes—your session includes your whole family.

We capture your baby on their own, as well as meaningful images with mom, dad, and siblings. These family portraits often become the most treasured images over time.

Is newborn photography safe?

Yes—your baby’s safety is always the top priority.

I use gentle, natural posing and never force your baby into uncomfortable positions. Every movement is done with care and intention.

What if I feel overwhelmed bringing my baby to the studio?

That’s exactly why this experience exists.

Everything is designed to remove stress—from the prepared environment to the baby-led pacing—so you can feel supported instead of overwhelmed.

What happens after the session?

About 2–3 weeks after your session, we’ll meet for your ordering appointment.

This is where you:

  • View your images
  • Choose your favorites
  • Design albums and wall artwork

I guide you through the entire process so it feels simple and exciting.

Do you offer digital images?

Yes, digital images are available.

However, most families come to me for help creating heirloom artwork, so their images don’t just live on a screen but become part of their home.

Why is preparation so important for a newborn session?

Preparation is what allows your session to feel effortless.

Because everything is planned in advance—from wardrobe to studio setup—you don’t have to make decisions in the moment. That’s what creates a calm, seamless experience.

What if I don’t feel “ready” for photos after having a baby?

Very few moms feel ready—and that’s okay.

This experience is designed to meet you exactly where you are, with support, styling, and a calm environment so you can still have beautiful, meaningful images without pressure.

Will this feel stressful or overwhelming?

No—the goal is the opposite.

Every part of your session is intentionally designed to feel calm, supportive, and easy, so you can focus on what matters most: being with your baby.
