My husband and I have very vivid memories of our early family photoshoots when my two daughters were little. One year we thought it would be awesome to do our shoot on the beach. Except that we didn’t realize that our youngest, Kendall, would end up HATING the sand and instead of smiling and having fun she cried. A lot. That was until I realized that I had a package of fruit snacks in my purse. And miraculously the fruit snacks saved the day and she managed to eek out a smile or two and let herself have a little fun. And we STILL have those pictures – many of them with Kendall clutching little red fruit snacks in her tiny fingers.
The reality is… photoshoots are stressful, especially with little kids. You want to be sure everyone is napped, fed, dressed, clean and hopefully happy when you arrive. And any parent knows that’s a lot to ask for.
By the time I met up with the Munsons, poor Reagan had already gotten accidentally hit in the eye and was not a happy camper. Her poor little eye was swollen, and she, not surprisingly, did not want to have her picture taken. After trying for about 20 minutes, Cameron spotted a candy shop and bought some jelly beans. And he literally saved our shoot. Not only did I have one happy Reagan, but Presley was thrilled to be eating her jelly beans during our time together!
And the moral of the story? Always have candy on hand at your photoshoots! 🙂
I’m so lucky I’ve gotten to photograph this beautiful family as far back as when they were just a family of three. It’s been so fun to see Presley and Reagan grow and to watch their personalities develop. Just take a peek at some of these photos of them and I promise you will be smiling. They are so stinkin’ cute!
Thank you Munson Family!
