My empty nest means that i've been there...through the maternity, newborn, baby, toddler, elementary school, middle school and high school stages. And man, what a ride.
Early on in my motherhood journey, I realized how fast it was all going. Before I knew it, they were sleeping through the night; coming home from their first day of school; slowly becoming the grown up humans they were meant to be. I knew that I wanted to document all of it. But I also wanted to be present for all of it. So I hired a photographer every year. And to this day, I still cherish those images.
I know first-hand how it feels to be left with only the beautiful images I was lucky enough to preserve. That's why I love my job. I get to capture beautiful memories for my clients and turn them into tangible artwork that I know will be cherished when the empty nest arrives.

I'm a wife and proud mom to two amazing young women. I never imagined how incredible it would be to have grown children that you enjoy hanging out with as ADULTS. But it really is the coolest thing ever, and the reward for all the sleepless nights, the disappointments and the worry.
My daughter, Sydney works for ESPN in Connecticut. My daughter, Kendall, is a senior at the University of Washington. I couldn't be prouder of the young women they've become.
And most importantly, the puppy love-of-my-life, Zoey, who my kids think I love more than them. ;-)
My Family
My Favorite Things
- I am the Queen of Thanksgiving... It was my mom's favorite holiday, and my grandmother's too. And now, each year, the number of people who join us has grown to over 20 people (and counting!). My family likes to call it my "Everest" and I think they are right. My love language is feeding people, and it's crazy how much pure joy it gives me every year to host so many people for an amazing meal.
- I grew up in Michigan and I remain to this day a die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan.
- I have the most amazing group of friends a girl could ask for. We do book club meetings that are sometimes about the book, most of the time they're not. We see each other as often as we can with our busy lives and I'm grateful for them everyday.
- My friend group alternates taking incredible trips for our milestone birthdays including the Maldives (see pic)) and a European cruise. This summer we will be taking a dream trip to South Africa.
- I am addicted to Diet Coke. No regrets.
- I had a traumatic birth experience with my first born which has motivated me to take care of new moms and to partner with other pregnancy and postpartum resources so that all moms have the opportunity for a healthy pregnancy and birth journey.

We had the best experience ever working with Jennifer Imus Photography!
Our most recent photo shoot was an extended family shoot at the holidays. We had a large group with lots of specific shots we wanted to capture during our session.
Jen scouted the location before hand, finding us the most beautiful setting. She is very professional and kept the session flowing within our allotted time slot. She is also warm and friendly, which helped everyone relax for the pictures.
Jen took a mixture of posed and candid shots. I enjoy that not every photo is posed. The candid photos really show personality.
Did I mention how fun she is! We literally laughed our whole session. By the end of our shoot my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.
We have also used her for senior portraits for our daughter. We highly recommend her for all your photography needs. You won't be disappointed.
