My empty nest means that i've been there...through the maternity, newborn, baby, toddler, elementary school, middle school and high school stages. And man, what a ride.
Early on in my motherhood journey, I realized how fast it was all going. Before I knew it, they were sleeping through the night; coming home from their first day of school; slowly becoming the grown up humans they were meant to be. I knew that I wanted to document all of it. But I also wanted to be present for all of it. So I hired a photographer every year. And to this day, I still cherish those images.
I know first-hand how it feels to be left with only the beautiful images I was lucky enough to preserve. That's why I love my job. I get to capture beautiful memories for my clients and turn them into tangible artwork that I know will be cherished when the empty nest arrives.

A snapshot into my life
I'm a wife and proud mom to two amazing young women. I never imagined how incredible it would be to have grown children that you enjoy hanging out with as ADULTS. But it really is the coolest thing ever, and the reward for all the sleepless nights, the disappointments and the worry.
My daughter, Sydney, is a recent UCLA graduate and my daughter, Kendall, is a junior at the University of Washington. I couldn't be prouder of the young women they've become.
And most importantly, the puppy love-of-my-life, Zoey, who my kids think I love more then them. ;-)

My Favorite Things
Like most people, I start my day with a really good cup of coffee. But if you come to my studio on any given afternoon, you'll probably see me with a Diet Coke in my hand. It's kind of my favorite thing. I'm admonished by my kids that it's "not healthy", and they're probably right. But a girl can have one vice in life, right?
I also cherish my "Book Club Tribe", made up of the women I'm lucky enough to call my best friends. We pick the best books (if I don't say so myself), and we sometimes talk about the book when we meet. Wine, great food, great conversation and a lot of laughter is always involved.

Travel has always been on the bucket list for my husband and I. With kids in so many activities during their formative years, we were forced to put our travel wishlist on the back burner (I'm sure if you have kids you can relate).
Now that we are empty nesters, we are definitely making up for lost time, and travel has become one of our favorite things! Last year, we crossed the Maldives off of our list. This year, we did our first cruise to Italy, Turkey and Greece.

This morning, sitting on the couch in Jen's studio, I had tears in my eyes watching the slideshow of the pictures she took of our daughter. We had the best experience ever working with Jennifer Imus Photography! Our most recent photo shoot was an extended family shoot at the holidays. We had a large group with lots of specific shots we wanted to capture during our session. Jen scouted the location before hand, finding us the most beautiful setting. She is very professional and kept the session flowing within our allotted time slot. She is also warm and friendly, which helped everyone relax for the pictures. Jen took a mixture of posed and candid shots. I enjoy that not every photo is posed. The candid photos really show personality. Did I mention how fun she is! We literally laughed our whole session. By the end of our shoot my cheeks hurt from laughing so much. We have also used her for senior portraits for our daughter. We highly recommend her for all your photography needs. You won't be disappointed.

Jennifer has been photographing our family for over 10 years. We have a wonderful family history through her lens. She is not only professional, friendly & talented, but manages to get the best out of us even when my family (husband) may be a bit grumpy as not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera. She also has taken then best care of our 4 legged family multiple times.
