Most families book their session 2–3 months in advance, especially during the busy spring and fall seasons. Spring brings softer light, fresh greenery, and a more airy feel, while fall is ideal for families thinking ahead to holiday cards and gifts. If you’re hoping to have artwork ready for the holidays, I recommend scheduling your session no later than early October to allow time for editing, ordering, and delivery.

That said, I photograph families year-round in the studio, so there’s always an option if you’re looking for something sooner or prefer a more timeless, seasonless look.

You don’t need to worry about what to wear — I guide you through the entire styling process. Your session includes access to my curated wardrobe for moms, babies and young kids, along with personalized styling support for your partner and children.

I focus on soft, neutral tones and timeless textures that photograph beautifully and won’t feel dated years from now. The goal is always to create a cohesive look that feels elevated but still like you.

Whether we’re shooting in the studio or outdoors, everything is styled intentionally so the focus stays on your connection as a family — not distracting patterns or trends.

Family sessions can take place either in my Old Town Tustin studio or at a carefully selected outdoor location. The studio offers a clean, timeless look with full control over lighting — perfect for families who want something classic and consistent year-round.

Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled in the late afternoon or early evening to take advantage of the best natural light. These sessions can feel a bit more relaxed and playful, especially for families with toddlers or young children who love to move.

I’ll guide you in choosing the setting that best fits your vision, the season, and your family’s dynamic so your images feel both natural and refined.

They don’t need to. My sessions are designed to be relaxed and child-led, allowing space for your kids to warm up and be themselves. I gently guide the session, but I’m never expecting perfection. In fact, some of the most meaningful images come from the in-between moments — your child reaching for you, a burst of laughter, the way your family naturally connects.
