Ally’s Senior Session | Jeffrey Open Space Session | Orange County Senior Photography

2022

Every so often you get a session where the light is just different. It doesn’t really make sense as to why, but it’s super exciting when it does.

I shoot at Jeffrey Open Space all the time… it’s actually a favorite choice amongst my clients after they view my portfolio and see the amazing light at the location. The light is usually dead-on consistent… filtered just right and a golden hue.

For Ally’s shoot, we had such an interesting late summer haze… it was beyond golden. And it was beautiful. It made for an almost rustic feel which I absolutely loved. I really hope I get to experience this rare light at this location again!

Ally is headed to San Diego State in the fall (Go Aztecs!). Have an amazing adventure, Ally!

WHEN TO SCHEDULE THOSE SENIOR YEAR YEARBOOK PHOTOS!

Your senior year is filled with exciting milestones, and one of the most important is your senior portrait for the yearbook. As an Orange County senior photographer, I understand the significance of this image, and I’m here to guide you through the process. In this blog post, we’ll explore the importance of yearbook deadlines and timelines, ensuring that you schedule your senior portraits in Orange County at the right time to meet all requirements.

The Significance of the Yearbook Portrait

Your senior yearbook portrait is a lasting memory that captures your unique personality and achievements during this pivotal time in your life. This image is not only a personal keepsake but also a part of your school’s history, so it’s crucial to get it right.

Understanding Yearbook Deadlines

Yearbook deadlines are established by your school’s yearbook committee and play a significant role in the scheduling of your senior portraits. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Early Yearbook Deadlines: Many schools have early yearbook deadlines, often during the summer or early fall of your senior year. These deadlines ensure that your portrait is included in the yearbook.
  2. Late Submissions: While some schools may accept late submissions, there’s no guarantee that your portrait will be included in the main yearbook. Late submissions may be placed in a separate section or not included at all.

Planning Your Senior Portrait Session

To ensure your senior portrait is ready for the yearbook, follow these guidelines:

  1. Schedule Early: Given the early yearbook deadlines, it’s advisable to schedule your senior portrait session during the summer or early fall of your senior year.
  2. Contact Your Photographer: Reach out to your chosen Orange County senior photographer well in advance to secure a session date. Discuss your yearbook requirements during the initial consultation.
  3. Select Your Outfits: Plan your wardrobe for the session, keeping in mind any dress code or style guidelines provided by your school for the yearbook photo.
  4. Professional Editing: After your session, your photographer will edit and retouch your images to ensure they meet the yearbook’s specifications.

Submitting Your Yearbook Portrait

Once your senior portrait is ready, follow these steps to submit it for the yearbook:

  1. Follow School Guidelines: Ensure your portrait complies with your school’s yearbook guidelines, including image size, format, and resolution.
  2. Submit on Time: Respect the school’s yearbook deadline and submit your portrait in a timely manner to guarantee inclusion in the main yearbook.
  3. Double-Check Details: Review your submission for accuracy, including your name and any accompanying quotes or captions.

Conclusion

Scheduling your senior portraits in Orange County is an exciting step in your senior year, but it’s important to consider yearbook deadlines and timelines to ensure your portrait is featured prominently in your school’s yearbook. By following these guidelines and working closely with your chosen photographer, you’ll have a beautiful senior portrait to cherish for years to come.
