I’m loving that so many of my clients have been asking for colorful backdrops this year. Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely LOVE shooting in nature, especially the beautiful and varied kind we have here in Southern California. But it’s always fun to change things up!
I’ve done quite a few shots now at The Lab in Costa Mesa (with more coming to the blog in the next few weeks). The cool thing about it, too, is that it’s perfect for families with boys who would rather not do the flower-filled fields, or heart-shaped props. It’s a bit gritty, very eclectic, colorful and offers fun backdrops for very cool family portraits.
My friend Steph has two awesome boys: Alex and Andrew. They are very cool, hockey-loving boys who fit in perfectly at The Lab. In fact, I would say that it was an awesome fit! I loved how much fun we had hanging out (with a coffee break in the middle of my shoot by the way… how cool is that?).
