Ethan’s Senior Session | Irvine Ranch Park Session

2021

I always get excited when I get a senior booking for a guy. It doesn’t happen very often, and I can’t quite figure out why. I know they’re probably just not into it, and their mom probably can’t quite convince them of why it’s an important milestone. Most of they guys who DO come to me for senior shoots are doing it for their mom. Which is a 100% valid reason why they should do it! 🙂

Here’s a PSA to the young men graduating from high school: GET YOUR SENIOR PHOTOS TAKEN! Not just for your mom, but for YOU. You will want to remember this moment and I promise it’s not nearly as bad as you think it will be.

Ethan’s shoot went off without a hitch and he was an absolute joy. We had a lot of fun and we got some great images! Thanks, Ethan!

HOW TO PERSONALIZE YOUR ORANGE COUNTY SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT!

Senior portraits are not just a reflection of your appearance; they are an opportunity to showcase your personality, passions, and interests. As an Orange County senior photographer, I understand the importance of incorporating hobbies and interests into your senior portraits to make them uniquely yours. In this blog post, we’ll explore how you can personalize your senior portraits by highlighting the things that make you, you, against the stunning backdrop of Orange County.

  1. Choose a Relevant Location: If your hobby or interest has a specific location associated with it, consider using that spot for your photoshoot. For example, if you’re a surfer, a beach location in Orange County would be perfect to capture your love for the waves.
  2. Wardrobe Choices: Your outfit should reflect your hobby or interest. For instance, if you’re a musician, bring your instrument along and wear attire that complements the genre of music you play.
  3. Props and Accessories: Incorporate relevant props and accessories into your senior portraits. For instance, if you’re a book lover, bring along your favorite books or reading glasses.
  4. Action Shots: Showcase your hobby or interest in action. If you’re into sports, capture dynamic shots of you in action on the field or court.
  5. Capture the Process: If your hobby involves creating something, like painting or cooking, consider documenting the process. This can add a personal touch to your senior portraits.
  6. Include Your Pets: If your hobby involves your furry friend, like dog walking or horseback riding, include them in your senior portraits. It’s a great way to show your love for animals.
  7. Group Shots: If you share your hobby or interest with friends or family members, consider incorporating them into a group shot. It’s a fun way to highlight your shared passion.
  8. Show Growth Over Time: If you’ve been pursuing your hobby or interest for a long time, you can include photos from different stages of your journey to show how you’ve grown and improved.
  9. Embrace Different Seasons: If your hobby changes with the seasons, plan multiple photoshoots throughout the year to capture the variety that Orange County’s climate offers.
  10. Tell a Story: Use your senior portraits to tell a story about your journey and your aspirations related to your hobby or interest. It can add depth and meaning to your photos.

Personalizing your senior portraits by incorporating your hobbies and interests is a wonderful way to make them uniquely yours. It allows you to celebrate what makes you special and gives you a chance to tell a story about your high school years in Orange County.
