Petrie Family | Irvine Ranch Park

2020

Oh how I love this family. We have been friends with them since we moved to California in 2004. We signed our kids up for “swim-safety” lessons that they were hosting in their backyard, and the rest is history… and our kids have been friends ever since!

This Orange County Family session was taken in one of the little gems of Orange County – Irvine Ranch Park. You need a permit through the county to shoot there, but it’s worth every penny. This family brings grandparents with them on their shoots, and it’s seriously the best idea ever. Every generation should be memorialized in your family photos!

Oh, and PLEASE bring your dog to your family shoot! They’re a part of the family and need to be in the family photos remembered forever!

Reach out to get on the books for holiday sessions! Christmas will be here before you know it!

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR ORANGE COUNTY FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT

Planning a family photoshoot is an exciting endeavor that allows you to capture the unique essence of your family’s dynamics. As an Orange County family photographer, I understand the importance of adequate preparation to ensure your photoshoot runs smoothly and results in beautiful, lasting memories. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the steps to prepare for a successful family photoshoot, tailored to the picturesque landscapes of Orange County.

  1. Choose the Perfect Location in Orange County:Start by selecting a location that resonates with your family’s personality and style. Orange County offers a variety of stunning settings, from sandy beaches to lush parks and vibrant urban scenes. Ensure the location complements your family’s vibe and desired aesthetic.
  2. Wardrobe Coordination:Coordinate your family’s outfits to create a harmonious and visually appealing look. Consider colors that complement each other and the chosen location. Dress comfortably, as relaxed and happy family members make for the best photos.
  3. Timing is Key:Plan your photoshoot for the ideal time of day when natural lighting is most flattering. In Orange County, the “golden hour” around sunset provides soft, warm light that enhances your photos.
  4. Props and Personalization:Add personal touches to your photoshoot by bringing along props or items that represent your family’s interests or hobbies. Whether it’s a favorite book, a family picnic, or even a beloved pet, these elements can add depth and meaning to your pictures.
  5. Communicate with Your Photographer:Prior to the photoshoot, have a detailed discussion with your Orange County family photographer. Share your vision, expectations, and any specific shots you want. Collaborate on ideas to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  6. Relax and Enjoy the Moment:On the day of the photoshoot, relax and enjoy the experience. Be yourselves, have fun, and let the photographer capture candid moments of love and laughter. Trust in their expertise to create beautiful memories.

With these steps and tips, you can prepare for a successful family photoshoot that captures the genuine love and connection within your family against the breathtaking backdrop of Orange County. Remember, as your Orange County family photographer I am there to guide and capture those beautiful moments. So, embrace the experience, and let your family’s unique story shine through in every frame.
