Taylor’s Senior Session | Jeffrey Open Space

2022

This is my third senior session for this family! Taylor is the youngest and is an amazing young woman. Not only is she super smart, she’s also a REALLY good basketball player. I know how much effort, energy and dedication it takes to be a great student AND a great student athlete. How these kids do it at such a young age, so effortlessly, I’ll never know.

We had an awesome time on this shoot and I had a ton of fun. This shoot came out exactly as I wanted it to, and some of these images are my favorite I’ve ever taken! Taylor fit so well with the magic of this location… and the fact that she brought her basketball made it even more fun and special.

Taylor will be attending NAU in the fall and will be playing basketball there! (go Lumberjacks!). Have a great year, Taylor!!

HOW TO INCORPORATE YOUR SENIOR YEAR SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES INTO YOUR ORANGE COUNTY SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION!

Senior year is a milestone filled with accomplishments, memories, and dreams for the future. If you’re a graduating senior in Orange County, you probably have a list of activities and passions that have defined your high school journey. Your senior portrait session is the perfect opportunity to celebrate these interests and create unique, memorable images. In this blog post, we’ll explore creative ways for Orange County seniors to incorporate their sports and activities into their senior portrait session, making it a reflection of who they are.

1. Personalizing Your Senior Portrait Session:

  • Answer: Your senior portraits should reflect your unique journey and the passions that have shaped you. Incorporating sports and activities adds a personal touch, making the images truly yours.

2. Communicate with Your Photographer:

  • Answer: Start by discussing your interests and activities with your photographer. Share your vision for the session and collaborate on ideas to bring it to life. An experienced photographer can offer creative suggestions and make your ideas a reality.

3. Choosing the Right Location:

  • Answer: Select locations that resonate with your interests. For sports enthusiasts, consider a local field, court, or sports facility. For other activities, think about settings that convey the essence of your passion, such as a dance studio or a theater stage.

4. Sports Attire:

  • Answer: Don’t forget to bring your sports uniforms, jerseys, or attire related to your activity. These outfits not only showcase your dedication but also add authenticity to the photos.

5. Equipment and Props:

  • Answer: Incorporate your sports equipment or props related to your activities. This can include a soccer ball, basketball, musical instrument, or even art supplies. Props add context and depth to the images.

6. Action Shots and Posed Photos:

  • Answer: Balance action shots that capture the dynamic energy of your activities with posed photos that showcase your personality and style. The combination creates a well-rounded portrait session.

7. Timing for Perfect Lighting:

  • Answer: Schedule your session during the golden hours of early morning or late afternoon for soft, flattering lighting. The quality of light at these times will make your photos shine.

8. Incorporate Teammates or Fellow Enthusiasts:

  • Answer: Consider inviting friends, teammates, or fellow enthusiasts to join you in some of the photos. This adds a sense of camaraderie and captures the friendships that often form through shared activities.

9. Embrace Your Passion:

  • Answer: During the session, fully immerse yourself in your activity. Whether you’re playing an instrument or shooting hoops, let your passion shine through. These candid moments create authentic and compelling images.

Conclusion: Incorporating your sports and activities into your senior portrait session is a fantastic way to celebrate your journey and the passions that have defined your high school years in Orange County. By communicating your vision, collaborating with your photographer, and creatively showcasing your interests, you’ll create senior portraits that are uniquely you. These images will serve as a lasting tribute to your high school achievements and set the stage for your exciting future beyond graduation.
