Swanson Family | Cedar Grove Park Session

2020

This is my 8th photoshoot with this amazing family. The shoot was a quick one taken in the middle of the worst of the Covid pandemic, hence the pose with the ever-familiar masked faces. I love that we captured that as a memory of what a crazy time it as for all of us during 2020.

One of the benefits of shooting Orange County Family photoshoots during the pandemic was that the parks were absolute ghost towns. So we got the run of the place… 🙂

And don’t forget to bring your dogs on your photoshoots! They’re part of the family! Continue reading below for some ideas on how you can incorporate your pets into your annual Orange County family photography session!

Let’s get you on the books for a family session! Get those memories captured and ask how we can turn those images into heirloom artwork for you to enjoy in the years to come!

TIPS ON INCORPORATING YOUR BELOVED PETS INTO YOUR ORANGE COUNTY FAMILY PHOTO SESSION!

Our furry friends are cherished members of the family, and including them in your family portraits can add an extra layer of love and personality to your images. As an Orange County family photographer, I understand the importance of capturing these special moments with your pets. In this guide, I’ll share tips and tricks to help you seamlessly incorporate your beloved pets into your family portraits in the picturesque landscapes of Orange County.

  1. Choose Pet-Friendly Locations in Orange County:Begin by selecting a photoshoot location that’s suitable for both your family and your pet. Orange County offers a variety of pet-friendly settings, including dog-friendly beaches, parks, and even urban areas that welcome pets. Ensure the location aligns with your pet’s comfort and safety.
  2. Schedule the Right Time:Consider your pet’s energy level and schedule the photoshoot at a time when they are most comfortable. In Orange County, the mild climate allows for outdoor photoshoots year-round, but be mindful of temperature and weather conditions that could affect your pet.
  3. Prep Your Pet:Groom your pet before the photoshoot to ensure they look their best. Brush their fur, clean their paws, and consider a quick visit to the groomer if necessary. Bring along their favorite treats and toys to keep them engaged during the shoot.
  4. Collaborate with Your Photographer:Communicate your intention to include your pet with your Orange County family photographer in advance. A photographer experienced in pet photography will have valuable insights and ideas to ensure a successful shoot.
  5. Bring an Assistant:Consider having a family member or friend accompany you to assist with your pet during the photoshoot. They can help keep your pet’s attention, hold leashes or treats, and ensure your pet’s safety.
  6. Embrace Candid Moments:Some of the most heartwarming pet and family portraits come from candid moments. Let your pet be themselves and capture their playful interactions with family members. These shots often convey the genuine bond between your family and your furry friend.

Incorporating your beloved pets into your family portraits can result in heartwarming and memorable images that truly capture the essence of your family. Whether it’s a playful romp on the beach, a serene moment in a park, or a cozy indoor setting, your Orange County family photographer can help you create timeless keepsakes that include your furry family members.
