Our most recent photo shoot was an extended family shoot at the holidays. We had a large group with lots of specific shots we wanted to capture during our session.
Jen scouted the location before hand, finding us the most beautiful setting. She is very professional and kept the session flowing within our allotted time slot. She is also warm and friendly, which helped everyone relax for the pictures.
Jen took a mixture of posed and candid shots. I enjoy that not every photo is posed. The candid photos really show personality.
Did I mention how fun she is! We literally laughed our whole session. By the end of our shoot my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.
We have also used her for senior portraits for our daughter. We highly recommend her for all your photography needs. You won't be disappointed.

Photography studio near Costa Mesa, CA
Award-winning and recognized as the 2025 Best Photographer of Tustin by the Tustin Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Imus has spent over 15 years creating portraits that families across Orange County come back for year after year. Her bright, airy studio is located in the heart of Old Town Tustin, centrally located in Orange County near where the 5 Freeway meets the 55 Freeway. Thoughtfully stocked with everything needed for a beautiful session — from newborn wraps, headbands, and props to florals and accessories curated over the years. Proudly serving families in Costa Mesa, Tustin, Irvine, Newport Beach, and throughout Orange County.
Costa Mesa is where my husband and I sneak off to for date nights and good food.
If you know, you know. The LAB Anti-Mall and The CAMP are icons. I can't tell you how many afternoons I've spent wandering those walkways with the textured walls, the modern lines, and all those tucked-away corners with great light. From a photography standpoint, they're some of my favorite spots to shoot because they feel elevated but still relaxed.
The weather here works in our favor too. Costa Mesa is just far enough inland that we skip a lot of the heavy marine layer you get right on the coast, but it's still close enough to the ocean to stay mild year-round. We get warm, clear afternoons most of the year, which gives us a lot of flexibility when planning sessions. The light at The LAB and The CAMP in the late afternoon is especially good.
And now with the Orange County Museum of Art (recently renamed UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art with UC Irvine's official acquisition!) Costa Mesa has this whole artistic layer built into it. The architecture alone is worth seeing. It's clean and modern, and for families who want a more editorial, contemporary feel in their photos, it's a really cool backdrop.
Costa Mesa is also a foodie city. We love Trenta Pizza and Cucina for Sicilian pizza and Deli Nerds for their sliders. South Coast Plaza is right here too, which makes it easy to turn a photo session into a full date night or family outing. Fairview Park is another favorite for families who want something more open and green.
Visually, Costa Mesa gives you something different from a typical beach session. Modern textures, architectural lines, curated spaces. It's a great fit for families who want their images to feel stylish but still natural.
Costa Mesa sits right at the intersection of the 405, the 55, and the 73, so it's one of the easiest cities in Orange County to get to. I photograph families coming from Newport Beach, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and all over the area.
