Photographers spend a lot of time learning how to pose people. We try a lot of new things as we shoot… some work and some don’t. We read articles, we look at other photographers’ work to see what catches our eye. There are a lot of “rules”… like keep the chin down, don’t square the shoulders, etc. In my experience very few clients really know how to pose themselves in order to look good on camera (myself included). I think this is some innate body awareness thing that most people don’t have. But every so often when I shoot a client, they get it. They know EXACTLY how to pose to look absolutely fantastic in front of the camera. And Marissa is one of those clients.
She started off a little shy in the beginning and actually told me she doesn’t think she’s photogenic (I mean just LOOK at these photos!). And once we got going with the shoot, Marissa went though pose after pose and I have to say it was a blast! She was awesome and just full of confidence! And Marissa is just stunningly gorgeous and such a sweet young woman. I know she’s going to great at the University of Arizona in the fall!
Thanks Marissa!!
