Trey’s Senior Session | Cedar Grove Park Session

2021

It makes me sad to see people not recognizing the importance of capturing the moments in time that you will most likely forget. We all have those half-memories… the ones where we “kind of” remember an event or a feeling, but then we also don’t really remember.

Photographs, especially PRINTED photographs, spark those memories for us.

Senior year is no different…. what a time of incredible change for our teenagers almost ready to jump into the real world! Capturing that is such a gift.. for them AND for you!

Trey chose to do his senior shoot at a park and on the track of his high school. He was on the track team and this place became a really meaningful place to him. I love when kids embrace what they love, and incorporate it into their sessions.

Trey will be attending USC. Best of luck, Trey!

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY OF YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION!

Your senior year is an exciting and memorable time, and one of the highlights is undoubtedly your senior portrait session. As an Orange County senior photographer, I understand that this experience should be enjoyable, stress-free, and leave you with beautiful images to treasure. In this blog post, we’ll take you through the senior portrait experience, from preparation to the final shot.

Preparing for Your Senior Portrait Session

The journey to stunning senior portraits begins well before the day of the shoot. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Initial Consultation: Your senior portrait experience typically starts with a consultation. This is where you’ll discuss your vision, style, and preferences with your photographer. Feel free to ask questions and share your ideas.

2. Choosing Locations and Outfits: Collaborate with your photographer to select the perfect locations and outfits for your shoot. Orange County offers a variety of picturesque backdrops, from beaches to parks and urban settings.

3. Hair and Makeup: Decide whether you want to have professional hair and makeup services. If so, schedule these appointments in advance to ensure you look and feel your best on the day of your shoot.

4. Wardrobe Planning: Plan your outfits carefully, keeping in mind the chosen locations and your personal style. Consider bringing a variety of options to allow for different looks during your session.

On the Day of Your Shoot

Your senior portrait session day is here! Here’s what you can expect:

1. Arrival and Set-Up: You’ll meet your photographer at the chosen location(s). They’ll be prepared with the necessary equipment and ready to guide you through the session.

2. Relax and Enjoy: The best senior portraits capture your genuine personality and style, so relax and enjoy the experience. Your photographer will provide guidance on poses and expressions.

3. Multiple Locations and Outfit Changes: Depending on your package, you may visit multiple locations and change outfits throughout the session. This variety allows for a diverse set of images.

4. Candid Moments: Don’t be surprised if your photographer captures candid moments between poses. These authentic shots often result in some of the most cherished images.

After the Session

Once the senior portrait session is complete, your photographer will guide you through the post-session process:

1. Viewing and Selection: You’ll meet at the studio and have the opportunity to view and select your favorite images from the session. This is where you’ll choose the portraits for printing into albums and wall galleries.

2. Editing and Retouching: Your selected images will go through the editing process to enhance their quality and bring out the best in each shot.

3. Delivery: Your final artwork will be delivered to you and frames will be professionally installed.

4. Sharing and Treasuring: Share your senior portraits with family and friends and cherish them as lasting memories of your senior year.
