Most expecting mothers schedule their maternity session sometime between 28 and 32 weeks pregnant. This is usually the sweet spot where your bump is beautifully defined while you are still comfortable enough to fully enjoy the experience.

Because my calendar fills several weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons, I always encourage Irvine maternity clients to reserve their session early whenever possible.

My approach is intentionally full-service and designed around making mothers feel cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Instead of expecting you to coordinate every detail yourself, I provide professional hair and makeup, access to my curated wardrobe collection, personalized styling guidance, and a fully guided session experience.

You never need to worry about how to pose, what to bring, or how to prepare your family. My goal is to create a relaxed, luxury experience where you can simply enjoy being present during this incredible chapter of motherhood.

Absolutely. Maternity sessions are about celebrating your growing family, and I encourage partners and siblings to participate whenever possible. Some families choose to include everyone for the full session, while others prefer a mix of individual maternity portraits and family images together.

I’ll guide everyone naturally throughout the session so nothing feels stiff or overly posed.

Both options are available depending on the look and feel you love most. Outdoor maternity sessions often feature soft golden light, open fields, coastal scenery, or natural Southern California landscapes. Studio sessions offer a more clean, timeless, and editorial aesthetic with beautiful natural light and a calm, private environment.

You do not need any modeling experience at all. One of the biggest concerns I hear from expecting mothers is that they feel awkward in front of the camera, especially during pregnancy. That is completely normal.

Throughout your session, I gently guide you into flattering poses and natural movement while focusing on connection, emotion, and creating images that feel authentic rather than forced.

In most cases, very little. I provide access to a carefully curated wardrobe for mothers, along with styling assistance to help coordinate your overall look. If your partner or children are participating, I’ll also offer guidance on what photographs best together.

What happens after the session?

After your maternity session, you’ll return to the studio for a personalized ordering appointment where you’ll view your images for the first time.
During this appointment, I’ll help you choose your favorite portraits and guide you through artwork options including custom albums, framed artwork, and digital collections.

Everything is designed to feel simple, personal, and fully supported from beginning to end.

Do you offer newborn photography as well?

Yes. Many Irvine families first find me while searching for maternity portraits and later return for newborn and baby milestone sessions.

Booking both maternity and newborn photography together allows me to create a cohesive experience and document the full journey into parenthood.

Because newborn sessions are limited each month, many families reserve both experiences before baby arrives to ensure availability.
