Besides the endless symptoms and the constant aches, you have to say goodbye to the wardrobe that you’ve spent years curating. If you don’t want to settle for the same four maternity shirts in constant rotation, you need maternity clothing that matches your style and gives you something you actually look forward to wearing.

As an Orange County maternity photographer, I spend a lot of time helping expectant moms think through clothing while their bodies are changing. The number of dedicated maternity boutiques in Orange County has become pretty limited, so this list includes the local stores I could verify along with a few online options that ship here.

 

Mother’s Secret

Location: 364 S. Tustin Street, Orange, California 92866

If you want to build a maternity wardrobe without spending a lot on clothing you may only wear for a season, Mother’s Secret is a genuinely local option. This mother-operated resale store carries gently used maternity clothing along with comfortable women’s clothing for before, during and after pregnancy. Because the inventory is resale, every visit will be different. The store also buys clean, current clothing by appointment when you are ready to pass pieces along.

 

Motherhood at Kohl’s

Where to shop: Motherhood.com, Kohls.com and select Kohl’s stores

Motherhood continues to offer maternity dresses, leggings, tops, bottoms and nursing pieces online, and the brand has returned to select Kohl’s stores. Two nearby Kohl’s locations are the Tustin store at 18182 Irvine Boulevard and the Irvine store at 14101 Jeffrey Road. Since Motherhood is available only in select stores and local stock can change, use the store locator or check pickup availability before you go.

 

Target Maternity

Location: Multiple Orange County stores and online

Target remains an easy place to look for maternity basics. Its current maternity selection includes Isabel Maternity by Ingrid & Isabel along with dresses, tops, jeans, leggings, activewear and nursing-friendly pieces. Not every Orange County store carries the same inventory, so check the item’s local pickup status before driving over. You can also use Target’s Orange County store locator to find the location closest to you.

 

PinkBlush Maternity

Location: Online with shipping to Orange County

PinkBlush is still a useful online option when you want more variety than you can usually find in a local maternity department. The current collection includes casual clothing, dresses for showers and special events, denim, activewear, swimwear and nursing-friendly pieces. The site also has petite-friendly, tall-friendly and plus-size maternity sections, which makes it easier to narrow the search before ordering.

 

A Pea in the Pod

Location: Online with nationwide shipping

A Pea in the Pod no longer has an Orange County storefront, but its online store is still operating. It carries maternity and post-pregnancy clothing, including everyday pieces, workwear, dresses and loungewear. This is an online-only option for Orange County shoppers, so review the current size guide and return policy before ordering.
