(Lactation consultants in Orange County updated in September 2026). Feeding a new baby can take up so much of your day and so much of your mental space. If breastfeeding or pumping is not going the way you expected, the last thing you need is to sort through outdated websites or wonder whether the person you found is actually qualified to help.

I work with new mothers and babies every week, so feeding is naturally part of life in my studio. I am not a lactation consultant or medical professional, and this article is not medical advice. I put it together to make it easier for Orange County parents to find current professional support and go directly to the provider for the latest information.

This is not a ranking, and I have not personally used every provider listed here. These practices and hospital programs are included because I could verify that they are currently operating and offering lactation support in Orange County through their official websites.

 

What Does IBCLC Mean?

IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. The IBCLC Commission explains that candidates must meet education and clinical requirements and pass an examination in breastfeeding and lactation management. Some providers hold additional nursing or other healthcare credentials as well. When a practice below uses the IBCLC designation, I have described it the way the provider or hospital currently identifies the professional on its official site. You can also ask a provider to confirm that a credential is current before you book.

 

1. The Breastfeeding Center of Orange County

I’ve partnered with Leora Robles, BS, IBCLC of The Breastfeeding Center of Orange County to make sure that my pregnant and postpartum moms have the most up-to-date, data-focused, kindhearted care. They’re based in Laguna Hills and offers office visits, home visits and virtual appointments. She has an incredible team that offers interventions, education and support for new moms during the first few weeks of their baby’s life. They also offer classes and postpartum community support. I have a genuine connection with this local organization and recently featured Leora and the center in my Local Spotlight on The Breastfeeding Center of Orange County. 2. Orange County Breastfeeding Consultants

Orange County Breastfeeding Consultants currently identifies its lactation consultants as registered nurses and IBCLCs. The practice offers in-home consultations throughout much of Orange County, prenatal support, phone consultations and secure online consultations for families in California. Its service page specifically lists Tustin, Irvine, Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, San Clemente and other Orange County communities, with travel fees possible outside its standard area.

 

3. OC Lactation Station

OC Lactation Station is operated by Megan Masler, whose current website identifies her as an IBCLC and trained postpartum doula. She offers in-home breastfeeding consultations along with postpartum support. Her site also explains what is included in a consultation and how to contact her about current scheduling and insurance coverage.

 

4. Hoag BabyLine and Breastfeeding Clinic

Hoag offers two different lactation resources. BabyLine connects new and expecting parents with an OB Education registered nurse who has experience with pregnancy, baby care and breastfeeding. Hoag also offers one-on-one appointments at its Breastfeeding Clinic with an IBCLC registered nurse. Use Hoag’s current maternity resources page to confirm access, location and appointment details.

 

5. MemorialCare Breastfeeding and Lactation Support

MemorialCare states that its lactation consultants have advanced training in breastfeeding management and board certification. Its current services include hospital and outpatient consultations, classes and phone support. Orange County locations listed on the official page include Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley and Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills.

 

A Free Community Option

MOMS Orange County currently offers free one-on-one lactation consultations in English and Spanish, prenatal lactation education and a monthly bilingual support group. Its website describes support from trained lactation counselors, so I am not presenting this program as an IBCLC practice. It may still be a helpful place to start if cost or language access is a concern.

 

How to Choose the Right Lactation Support

The right option may depend on how quickly you need an appointment, whether leaving home feels realistic, the kind of credential you are looking for and whether your insurance may cover the visit. Before scheduling, ask where the appointment takes place, who will provide the care, what credentials that person currently holds, what follow-up is included and what you will be expected to pay.

A lactation consultant does not replace your physician or your baby’s pediatrician. Contact the appropriate medical provider when you have concerns that require medical diagnosis or treatment.
