Orange County newborn studio photography was exactly what Cydney was looking for when I met her at the Bump & Beyond Expo in September at MemorialCare Saddleback. She was about a month away from giving birth. Between work and other commitments, she hadn’t had time to find a newborn photographer in Orange County who offered everything she was looking for. Once she heard about the full-service, just-show-up experience at Jennifer Imus Photography, my newborn photography studio in Tustin, California, she was ready to schedule newborn photoshoot!
Cydney and dad Taylor came into the studio about a week later for their wardrobe planning appointment. They are the kind of people who instantly make you feel at ease! Totally down-to-earth, kind, and so excited to meet their sweet baby.
We ended up chatting for over an hour, and I knew then that their Orange County newborn studio photography session was going to be something special.
Baby Mariana’s Orange County Newborn Studio Photography Session
When Cydney and Taylor arrived at the studio from their home in Aliso Viejo with 15 day old Mariana, she definitely had some things to say! Since I always let the baby take the lead, we just hit the pause button for extra snuggles and feedings whenever she needed them. It took the pressure out of the equation so Cydney and Taylor could just breathe and love on sweet Mariana.
For Mariana’s Orange County newborn studio photography session, we kept things classic and organic, especially for her solo shots. We started with a simple white wrap along with a white and coral floral headband.
We switched her to a beautiful white lace dress paired with a light sage floral headband, as well as a pink and white floral headband. For the family photos, mom and dad chose a purple/eggplant swaddle along with a gorgeous matching headband with natural floral accents.

Wardrobe and Family Photos with Mom and Dad
For the family portraits during this Orange County newborn studio photography session from Morning Lavender that went perfectly with her stunning long, dark hair. We alternated shots with Cydney in my vintage arm chair and my white futon, all with the bright and airy light in my relaxed studio. My favorite shot was capturing a quiet moment Cydney had with baby Mariana sitting on my chaise sofa. Cydney looking lovingly down at Mariana was such a beautiful moment that I was so excited to capture.
Dad coordinated perfectly in his light tan khakis and cream knit shirt. He and Cydney went barefoot to keep with the relaxed and intimate feel they were looking for.
Some of my favorite shots weren’t the posed ones, but the quiet way Cydney tucked Mariana under her chin or the look of pure awe on Taylor’s face when he looked at his wife and his new baby girl. So sweet!
